About Us

Charlie Birney

worked for 27 years as a property manager as well as a project manager at The Brick Companies. (Queenstown Harbor Golf, South River Golf, and Potomac Ridge). During that time he served on the board of the Maryland Tourism Council as well as the National Golf Course Owners Association and founded a corporate non-profit: The Brick Companies Foundation. His experience with promoting the charitable work of the Foundation led him to utilize digital media and to understand the value of podcasting early on.

Oscar Zeballos, MBA

Podcasting since 2005, Zeballos established himself as a thought leader through his work on some of the nation’s top-rated podcasts, both on and off-air. Oscar earned his Executive MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business in 2016. In 2018 Oscar was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the UMD Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship and is currently an Executive Fellow for the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets. As CEO of Podville Media, he and the Podville team have had the honor of developing, producing, and distributing podcasts for National and International Non-profits, Broadcast Television Networks, Celebrities, and Multi-International Corporations.

In 2017, 4th generation Washingtonian Charlie Birney and Robert H. Smith School of Business’ Entrepreneur of the Year Oscar Zeballos founded Podcast Village, now Podville Media. Leveraging decades of experience in Broadcasting, Commercial Real Estate, Golf, and Maritime business pursuits, Birney and Zeballos’ goal was to capture opportunities around the next generation of content communication.


Now located at the intersection of 19th and M streets in downtown Washington, DC. Podville Media is continuing to expand and evolve with market needs. Captained by Charlie and Oscar, they guarantee an inclusive, client-first production with a strict “No A$hole Policy.”
