Charlie Birney

worked for 27 years as a property manager as well as a project manager at The Brick Companies. (Queenstown Harbor Golf, South River Golf, and Potomac Ridge). During that time he served on the board of the Maryland Tourism Council as well as the National Golf Course Owners Association and founded a corporate non-profit: The Brick Companies Foundation. His experience with promoting the charitable work of the Foundation led him to utilize digital media and to understand the value of podcasting early on.

Oscar Zeballos, MBA

Since 2005, Oscar Zeballos has been a pioneer in the podcasting industry, establishing himself as a thought leader both on and off the mic through his work on some of the nation’s top-rated podcasts. He earned his Executive MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business in 2016. In 2018, the UMD Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship honored him as Entrepreneur of the Year. He currently serves as an Executive Fellow for the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets. As CEO of Podville Media, Zeballos and his team have had the privilege of creating, producing, and distributing podcasts for nonprofits, top broadcast networks, celebrities, and global corporations.

In 2017, fourth-generation Washingtonian Charlie Birney and Oscar Zeballos, recognized as the Robert H. Smith School of Business’ Entrepreneur of the Year, co-founded Podville Media with a bold vision: to redefine content communication for the next generation. Leveraging their deep expertise, they set out to transform the media landscape and unlock new opportunities in the evolving digital era.
